Job Title: ALARA and Health Physics Team Leader
Job Purpose
Lead the implementation of ALARA and Health Physics standards and provide supervision throughout the planning, execution and post close-out activities, as per the regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial, and environmental protection, to ensure overall business performance objectives including individual dose control and dose assessment are achieved.
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
ALARA and Health Physics
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Lead the implementation of the master plan in Health Physics area to outline program goals and standards.
• Provide recommendation to Radiation Safety Governance management in relation to health physics to update operation procedures and remain aligned with any changes in plant design or operation.
• Lead the implementation of Radio Isotopes (RI) storage program, and the conduct of periodic leak test for RIs to ensure RIs stay within required bounds.
• Lead the assessment and verification of skin dose and personal dose to ensure compliance with regulatory radiation dosage limits.
• Endorse implementation of commissioning, start-up and Power Ascension Test (PAT) for RP detailed plan to ensure operational readiness.
• Endorse benchmark of all BNPP operational experience and apply to learnings to other BNPP units to drive performance improvement and ensure alignment of plant operations.
• Review exposure dose of radiation workers to report to Federal Authority of Nuclear Regulation (FANR) to maintain reporting compliance.
• Lead the implementation of the master plan in Health Physics area to outline program goals and standards.
• Lead the development and review annual reports tracking exposure goals for workers, outages and departments within the containment area to drive performance improvement with lower exposure ratings.
• Review long term As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) Plan and conduct periodic reviews to manage performance improvement of the organization.
• Manage ALARA Committee operation to promote long-term vision of improving ALARA standards.
• Provide technical support to the team about the health physics area to support operational excellence.

Staff Training and Qualification
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Establish management expectations and communicate with department to ensure high level of safety and reliability of radiation safety.
• Monitor, instruct and evaluate staff performance to develop necessary training and improve performance.
• Verify training programs provide necessary technical knowledge and skills and revise as needed.
• Provide training feedback on program effectiveness with evaluation to ensure quality of training program
Activity:
Security Drills and Exercises
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Support training-related activities associated with the planning, coordination, conduct, and evaluation of security drills and exercises in order to meet regulatory requirement.
• Lead the development of general training plans as required to support training needs and deliver successful drills.
Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Support outage and/or the emergency response organization, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.
Operational Planning
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Provide input into the development of the Department’s systems and processes, as well develop, and implement the Section’s procedures, identifying opportunities for the continuous improvement of practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
• Monitor, control and report Operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the Section, to track performance and recommend corrective or mitigating actions.
• Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, to meet the Section’s requirements and standards.
Health and Safety, Security, and Business Continuity
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the Section by the delivery of the Health and Safety Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality services and a responsible environmental attitude.
• Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures, and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others, and corporate assets.
• Ensure the compliance with Business Continuity and Resilience requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to the effective planning for, and response to, incidents or business disruptions to continue critical business processes and activities with minimal adverse impact.
Professional Certifications
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree
Pref - Master of Science Degree.
Experience
Min - 6 years of relevant experience.
Pref - • 7 years of relevant experience, out of which:
2 years of Nuclear Power Plant experience out of which:
i. 3 months of BNPP site experience.
ii. 6 months participation in radiation protection activities at a nuclear power plant.
