Job Purpose

To support ENEC Corporate Oversight Vice-President in assuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations of Barakah nuclear power plant and corporate functions (ENEC and ENEC Operations)

Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability

Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 
•    Oversee independent performance monitoring and assessment of ENEC Operations activities relating to Barakah NPP, including planning and directing organizational activities related to those assessments and reporting results to ENEC and ENEC Commercial Management to ensure compliance with required standards of safe, reliable and efficient plant operation.
•    Advise ENEC Corporate Oversight Vice-President on establishing an assurance capability to assess performance of corporate and Barakah NPP in terms of safety, security and reliability (reviewing performance information and conducting audits where necessary)
•    Align with ENEC Operations on performance KPIs (target & stretch), and review KPI results.
•    Attend ENEC Operations management performance review meetings (MRM’s), and other review meetings as necessary to participate in performance review discussions.
•    Identify performance gaps, and review mitigations and improvement plans (Excellence plans).
•    Support and prepare regular reports to ENEC Corporate Oversight Vice-President on corporate and plant performance (inclusive of conclusions and recommendations)
•    Maintain a positive working relationship with the ENEC Operations team, organize and participate in regular update meetings and site visits.
•    Track industry trends, events, and Operational Experience activity (e.g. INPO, WANO, IAEA) to ensure adoption of industry best practice, ensuring lessons are learned from peers to identify opportunities for the Enterprise.
•    Review all External Oversight reports (including WANO, IAEA and regulators)
•    Collaborate with Engineering & Technical Services to review and assess technical requests submitted by subsidiaries for plant enhancements upgrades.
•    Undertake any other duties as directed by ENEC Corporate Oversight Vice-President.

•    Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures, and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others, and corporate assets. 
•    Ensure compliance with Business Continuity and Resilience requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to the effective planning for, and response to, incidents or business disruptions to continue critical business processes and activities with minimal adverse impact.

•    Manage the effective achievement of the Organization’s objectives by setting individual targets, developing, and motivating staff, and providing formal and informal constructive feedback and appraisal – to maximize subordinate and Department’s performance.

•    Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance.

Professional Certifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

•    Master’s degree in nuclear engineering
•    Operational experience at multi-unit nuclear utility.

Experience

10 to 12 years of relevant experience.
