Job Title: HVAC Expert
Job Purpose
Develop, plan and execute HVAC‑related projects, modification, and maintenance activities, applying in-depth expertise in cooling, heating (limited) and ventilation systems' operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and modifications.
Responsible to monitor HVAC system performance and reliability, identify HVAC operational issues and improvement opportunities and implement modifications, upgrades, corrective and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the HVAC systems, particularly in BNPP operating conditions.

HVAC Technical Expertise
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Provide in‑depth technical expertise for HVAC system and component performance (including AHUs, air-cooled condensing units, packaged units, air cleaning units, duct systems, sand separations units, etc), reliability, efficiency, failures, and degradation issues.
• Define technical problem statements, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and extent‑of‑condition assessments for HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control‑related issues.
• Develop technical solutions aligned with approved design intent and control philosophies.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure HVAC solutions are safe, executable, operable, and maintainable.
• Define and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) technical requirements for HVAC systems and contribute to long‑term maintenance, refurbishment, and obsolescence management strategies.
• Support preparation and execution of HVAC scopes of work and technical specifications.
• Compile Material Master Requirements for HVAC equipment and spare parts to support warehousing and purchasing activities.
• Specify HVAC quality, safety, and regulatory requirements in accordance with applicable standards, best practices, and regulations, and perform quality oversight during fabrication, manufacturing, inspection, testing, and installation.
• Apply experience operating HVAC systems in high‑ambient, dusty, and corrosive GCC environments.
• Support monitoring HVAC operational performance, reliability, and degradation trends, identify early warning signs, and initiate corrective or preventive actions.
• Perform and/or oversee technical inspections, condition monitoring, and HVAC system walkdowns.
• Implement corrective actions to improve HVAC system reliability, availability, and maintainability.
• Optimize HVAC systems’ operation under varying loads and ambient conditions.
• Support execution of control logic changes and operational improvements.

• Develop execution strategies for HVAC upgrades, replacements, preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Plan HVAC maintenance, replacement, and modification activities, including scope definition, sequencing, and system reinstatement.
• Support feasibility studies, optioneering, and technical tender evaluations for HVAC maintenance, replacement, and upgrade projects.
• Develop, review, and revise HVAC technical requirements related to service contracts.
• Support the development, review, and revision of HVAC scopes of work and technical specifications.
• Provide oversight, guidance, direction, and advice to support HVAC installation and maintenance methods, materials, equipment, and work sequences.
• Review and revise HVAC maintenance and installation work instructions and procedures to ensure they are current, practical, and effective.
• Oversee HVAC maintenance, modification, upgrade, and replacement works.
• Oversee HVAC commissioning, testing, and system handover activities, ensuring systems meet defined technical and operational requirements.
Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Support outage and/or the emergency response organization, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support
Professional Certifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma (or Equivalent) Degree in Engineering, Project Management or related Science.
Experience
6–7 years hands-on experience with HVAC systems (particularly cooling and ventilations systems)
Experience with HVAC systems in nuclear or large industrial facilities
Experience with HVAC systems in GCC (or GCC-like) conditions including high ambient temperature, humidity, dust, and marine/corrosive conditions
