Job Title: Nuclear Business Excellence Lead
Job Purpose
The Nuclear Business Excellence Lead is responsible for supporting the identification, assessment, development, governance, implementation, and realization of enterprise-wide business excellence initiatives across the Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO) organization. The role serves as an integrated business excellence practitioner, working across strategic optimization, organizational effectiveness, operating model enhancement, governance oversight, implementation execution, and benefits realization.
Operating within a matrix reporting structure, the position provides direct support to both the Nuclear Business Excellence Strategy Manager and the Nuclear Business Excellence Governance & Implementation Manager, ensuring seamless transition from strategy formulation through implementation and value delivery.
The position drives continuous improvement, organizational effectiveness, operational excellence, and cost optimization while maintaining alignment with nuclear safety, regulatory requirements, operational performance objectives, and enterprise strategic priorities.
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
Strategic Optimization & Business Excellence
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Support identification of optimization opportunities across the CNO organization by evaluating processes, organizational structures, operating models, and business performance.
• Conduct strategic assessments to identify improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, organizational performance, and value delivery.
• Assist in developing optimization roadmaps, transformation portfolios, and business excellence plans aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Support prioritization of initiatives based on safety impact, operational benefits, strategic alignment, cost efficiencies, and business value.
• Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and value realization assessments for proposed initiatives.
• Support strategy reviews and provide analysis, insights, and recommendations to leadership.
• Monitor external industry trends and benchmark organizational performance against nuclear industry best practices and leading international organizations.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of enterprise business excellence frameworks, methodologies, and standards. Provides technical guidance and oversight support to consultants delivering assigned workstreams.
• Review consultant deliverables to ensure compliance with approved scope, quality, and intent.
• Define performance metrics and benefit realization plans for analysis and design phase.
• Monitors progress and highlights initiatives that do not demonstrate clear or sustained value, supporting escalation and corrective discussion as required.
Operating Model & Organizational Effectiveness

• Support reviews of organizational structures, operational frameworks, and governance models to improve effectiveness and accountability.
• Assess spans of control, organizational layers, workforce distribution, and capability requirements across business functions.
• Analyze workforce productivity and organizational performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Participate in organizational design studies, restructuring initiatives, and operating model transformations.
• Develop recommendations to enhance organizational alignment, decision-making effectiveness, and process efficiencies.
• Support implementation of organizational redesign initiatives and workforce optimization programs.
• Assess organizational capability gaps and recommend capability-building initiatives.

Implementation Oversight & Execution Support
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Coordinate implementation activities related to approved organizational and operational improvement initiatives.
• Support development of implementation plans, schedules, transition approaches, and change management activities.
• Monitor implementation progress against approved milestones, timelines, and performance targets.
• Track actions, risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans associated with implementation initiatives.
• Escalate implementation challenges and barriers to leadership for timely resolution.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful initiative execution.
Benefits Realization & Performance Monitoring
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Support development and maintenance of benefits realization frameworks and tracking mechanisms.
• Monitor achievement of expected financial, operational, organizational, and performance benefits.
• Validate savings, efficiency gains, workforce improvements, and operational enhancements resulting from implemented initiatives.
• Develop KPI dashboards, performance scorecards, and executive reporting mechanisms.
• Track value realization against approved business cases and strategic objectives.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess effectiveness and sustainability of implemented improvements.
• Identify corrective actions when expected benefits are not being achieved.
Independent Challenge & Assurance
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Provide objective challenge to analyses, recommendations, assumptions, and implementation plans.
• Validate the quality and completeness of improvement proposals prior to governance review and approval.
• Review consultant deliverables and recommendations to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and business requirements.
• Verify that recommendations are practical, achievable, measurable, and sustainable.
• Support independent assurance reviews of implemented initiatives.
• Monitor sustainability of implemented improvements and recommend corrective actions where required
Stakeholder Engagement
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Establish effective working relationships across Operations, Engineering, Nuclear Safety, Maintenance, Corporate Functions, and Executive Leadership teams.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagements to gather data, validate findings, and build consensus.
• Present analysis, findings, recommendations, and implementation progress to leadership forums and Steering Committees.
• Serve as a trusted advisor supporting continuous improvement and organizational excellence initiatives across the organization.
