Job Title:  Senior Contracts Specialist (Change)

Job Purpose

To efficiently and effectively investigate, analyze, control and agree the contractual and commercial activities of the Prime Contract (and other contracts) with a particular emphasis on changes to the Works as they relate to Enterprise associated with the design, engineering, licensing, procurement, construction testing and commissioning of the BNPP project under the Prime Contract and other related contracts, to ensure Enterprise commercial risk exposure in respect of contractual and commercial matters is minimized and controlled

Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability

Prime Contractor Oversight
Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 
•    Support and work collaboratively with Commercial team to integrate and streamline Change Management with Claims Management.
•    Develop, maintain and implement work processes and associated tools to support effective commercial administration of the Prime Contract.
•    Administer and negotiate Change to the Prime Contract effectively to ensure the continuous update is provided
•    Support the Prime Contract Management team to ensure the accountabilities and activities are performed in an effective manner.
•    Facilitate communication both internally and externally in order to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships.
•    Develop and maintain Prime Contract commercial management procedures and ensure integration with Prime Contract’s processes and those of other ENEC business units.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities (contd.)

Change Management
Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 
•    Minimize exposure to changes to Prime Contract by applying correct contractual provisions.
•    Negotiate and timely agreement of Changes in order to minimize conflict.
•    Ensure relevant internal procedures are adhered to.
•    Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained to satisfy ENEC Delegation of Authority levels.
•    Independently analyze and negotiate Changes with Contractor and internal subject matter experts
Commercial Risk Management (Claims)
Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 
•    Ensure cost, time and risk issues are being commercially controlled.
•    Ensure ENEC commercial interests are best protected by minimizing potential for conflicts arising.
•    Ensure defense mechanisms are in place to minimize risk of claims and disputes being pursued by Contractor.
•    Liaise with claims subject matter experts on contentious issues.
Stakeholder Engagement
Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 
•    Facilitate communication both internally and externally in order to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships.

Professional Certifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or similar.

Experience

7 years relevant experience in construction industry.

•    Further extended studies in Claims and Dispute resolution areas of expertise.
•    MBA degree in related subject.
•    International power or nuclear program experience.
