Job Purpose
To plan and execute engineering activities related to the oversight of the Prime Contractor (PC), including Sub-contractors/Sub-suppliers deliverables to ensure the adequate design, construction, installation & commissioning of Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) for the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) with focus on the electrical related equipment & systems
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
Activity:Divisional Planning
Responsibility:
•Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Electrical Department in order to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and effective manner
•Advise management on issues affecting the project in order to take necessary actions as required
Electrical Deliverables Review
Responsibility:
•Conduct primary technical reviews on assigned PC design deliverables related to electrical equipment/systems design & calculations, Single Line (SLDs), Schematic and Cable Block Diagrams, relevant technical specifications, and procurement/tendering packages so they comply with PC requirements, project schedule, and UAE laws & regulations
•Monitor the PC as necessary to ensure expectations are met in the assigned aspects of electrical systems and equipment during the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of BNPP
•Review vendor documentations with respect to electrical equipment & materials to ensure compliance with the PC requirements
•Conduct primary technical reviews of PC and/or ENEC processes and procedures in order to ensure approvals where relevant and to prepare technical reports on findings
•Evaluate, and advise on electrical related design changes & non-conformances to ensure fulfillment of requirements
•Ensure the development of required documentation for the review process in order to include comments, recommendations, and corrective action plans for the PC as appropriate
•Liaise with materials (MM) and Quality Surveillance (QS) departments, to ensure that the assigned electrical equipment installation activities are performed in accordance with the engineering design requirements, project contract agreements, schedule, as well as Safety and Quality standards
Technical Support
Responsibility:
•Provide technical input and expertise to the PC and Sub-contractors/Sub-suppliers electrical and project control-related deliverables as a functional team member in order to ensure applicable standards are maintained
•Support the engineering, licensing, safety, planning, and quality surveillance discipline members in the tasks resolution process in order to expedite solutions to any issues arising
Stakeholder Relations
Responsibility:
•Facilitate communications both internally & externally to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships
Budget

•Assist in the preparation of the department/section budget
HSE
Responsibility:
•Follow all relevant company's HSE policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure HSE compliance in all aspects of work in accordance with sound management practices by applying these HSE policies and procedures to self and others to take reasonable care for the health and safety of people, or the environment, who are at the employees place of work who may be affected by the employees acts or omissions at work
The incumbent is expected to perform standard activities as per attachments 4 & 5 in the Job Description procedure (relating to Health, Safety and Environment, Security and Business Continuity, People Management, Excellence and Quality Management
